ABTA Benchmarking Surveys

Since 1996 PricewaterhouseCoopers has undertaken a biennial benchmarking survey of ABTA Members, on behalf of the Association. The surveys provide empirical data about financial and operational performance against which companies can benchmark themselves.

ABTA MORI Survey - Attitudes of Package Holiday Makers

ABTA commissions a biennial MORI survey of consumer attitudes to package holidays. The results are based on face-to-face interviews with adult members of the population who have taken package holidays over the previous year. Reward Pay Survey 2003-2004

This survey is conducted on behalf of ABTA by Croner Reward Group, a leading UK pay research company. It provides independent data to help companies benchmark their pay and benefits arrangements. It can also help inform personnel policies, particularly at times when there are staff shortages in certain skill groups.

The survey costs £360 for non members, and £260 for ABTA Members, Travel Industry Partners, and those who took part in the survey. To order, contact Croner Reward () on 01785 813566.

ABTA's Travel Statistics and Trends 2005 pulls together facts and statistics about the travel industry. Most of the information has been drawn from ABTAs own surveys and in house information.

Office for National Statistics

Statistical information relating to national trends in transport and tourism is available from the Government Office for National Statistics (ONS). To view, go to the ONS website at www.statistics.gov.uk


Mintel's Travel & Tourism reports examine the structure, size and dynamics of an industry experiencing constant change. The reports, which are based on primary research from numerous specialist sources, analyse market sizes and trends and market segmentation, along with consumer attitudes and purchasing habits. The series is used to inform marketing and development strategies at all levels within the travel business.

ACNielsen has monitored retail leisure travel trade bookings for over 15 years. Its TravelTrack service is the only survey in the UK that measures the number of people booking a foreign package holiday, ticket only and accommodation only, through traditional high street travel agents, call centres and internet sales.
